I'm knitting the little guy a sweater...as you can see, I've got the trunk down and am somewhat stalling on the sleeves. Usually, I don't touch my knitting needles between May and September. It's just too hot and humid...and I'd rather spend our time at the beach or at the park. But for some reason, a few weeks ago, I got this unexplicable urge to knit. It was just after we moved, and everything was a mess, but I dug through the boxes until I found some needles and yarn. And so began my summer knitting endeavor.
I must say it feels just a tad different knitting in the summer than in the fall or winter. I usually knit in the company of a hot cup of tea or cocoa--and I associate knitting with warmth and comfort. But these days, the knitting is done with an iced drink, under the ceiling fan. There is something equally relaxing and rythmic about it, but it just doesn't have quite to same cozy feel.
With any luck, I'll get this "practice" sweater done soon, and start on some other ones, so by fall, Collin will have a selection of home-made goods to keep him warm. :)
