family play

Before we had children, this notion of family time was very theoretical to me - it seemed nice, but what was the big deal?! Now that I have two little boys, it's become one of our top priorities...and not only family time, but "family play time". More than just time spent together as a family, it's time spent playing together - enjoying each other, relaxing-laughing-running-talking together. Although doing chores together and running errands as a family is also important, there is something wonderful and lovely about playing together...a special bond that forms over the joy and freedom of play. Can't help but think it is some little reflection of the joy and freedom we have in God's presence as well.

Although April has been a busy month, we've been lucky to be able to carve out space for some play, especially with extended family...

Here is Grandma and Owen...

Watching Collin and Daddy swim...

And a visit to the zoo with Grandma...

Check out this crazy ant-eater!!

Hanging out with Uncle Stanley (who is pretty much family), who brought these guys two huge cupcakes...

Play time with Uncle Jae!

And finally a little family walk on Breakheart Reservation...with 2 miles of paved hiking trails (and a playground)!

Thankful for family today...and the joy that they bring.
